Cross channel ferries: Paul Merton enjoys his European trip
14.01.2010
People considering taking cross channel ferries before heading on to Germany could follow in the footsteps of one of the funniest men in Britain, who recently travelled across the country.Paul Merton visited Germany as part of his new TV show and soaked up the sights of Berlin and Bavaria with his guide Yann, who took him to see a prison where the notorious Baader-Meinhof gang were once kept.
"He visits an artist who makes tiny paper boats, micro-ships a whole career based on one pun. It"s supposed to be about the weird stuff. And it"s more entertaining than a cruise down the Rhine," said the Guardian"s TV critic Sam Wollaston.
The Have I Got News For You comedian also visited a German spa where he was able to enjoy some of the local beer, which may interest people taking cross channel ferries.
Bavaria has many other cultural attractions, such as its range of local beers, and it was recently revealed that the region has the largest density of breweries in the world.
