Countryside fair awaits ferry users
23.09.2009
People taking ferries to Dunkerque may want to travel the short distance to Ghent where there is a fair which looks at all elements of countryside life and runs throughout September.Exhibitors at the event will display wares such as Wellington boots and tweeds as well as organic produce and antiques.
The event could provide the perfect opportunity for people on a ferry break to pick up a unique gift for a loved one of for themselves.
"There is no similar trade fair within the next 100 km, and - given the diversity of the range offered by the many exhibitors - the "rural lifestyle" aspect is presented virtually perfectly," the event"s website explained.
It added that Flanders" country magazine will also be presenting at the event and will put on an "extensive interactive programme".
Ghent will also be the setting for the Flanders International Film Festival which is being held this October.
