Cross channel ferries near to brilliant festival
18.12.2009
People taking cross channel ferries are close to a city which will be hosting an arts festival that is one of the biggest in Europe, according to its organisers. The OdeGand is the opening event for the Festival van Vlaanderen, which takes over the region halfway through 2010 and people who do not want to miss it could book their ferry travel well in advance.
"Held over one day, it"s a happy, jumbled mix - a glimpse of what"s to come. Expect Flamenco, Tango, Gospel, jazz and lots of surprises in tow," according to What"s On When.
The festival"s website added that the festivities take place along the city"s waterways and, after people purchase their passes, they can fully take part.
Another event taking place is The Polé Polé festival, which means "take it easy" in Swahili, and comes to the region in July.
Ferry passengers who want to book in advance can do so to ensure they are able to take in the music, food and culture in Ghent and Zeebrugge.
