Ferries to Dunkerque: Eco-tourism does not have to be pricey

Too many people taking ferries to Dunkerque think that being environmentally friendly when on a holiday is expensive, according to one expert.Jeremy Smith, author for Rough Guides, said that people think because fair trade food produce can be more expensive than alternatives this is the case for eco-friendly travel and holidays.
"Staying in a hotel that is responsible doesn"t mean that it is more expensive. Staying in a homestay can be one of the cheapest ways to travel that there are," he stated.
The expert added that the most ethical forms of travel are often the cheapest and can help holidaymakers to reduce their costs and impact on the environment.
In other news, the Daily Telegraph reported that France has around 500 quality ski resorts including some in the northern Alps which are well served by good public transport and remain popular with skiers from the UK.
