Ferries to France: Flanders film festival comes to Ghent

People taking cross channel trips to France could make the short trip to Ghent once they arrive and see some exciting new movies at the Flanders International Film Festival which is being held this October.Holidaymakers can join the 100,000 strong spectators who will be able to watch 150 feature films and around 90 shorts that will be screened between October 6th and 17th in the Belgian city.
It is now in its 36th year and will see Godfather III and Ocean"s Eleven star Andy Garcia receive the Joseph Plateau Honorary Award before the screening of his new offering City Island.
The events website stated: "With its focus on film music, the Ghent Film Festival has its own unique place in international festivals. Every year, the festival organises film music concerts, giving composers of film scores the platform they deserve."
Some of the world"s most interesting beers and ales can also be found in Flanders with Saison being one of the most well-known tipples to hail from the region.
