Ghent has great flea market
26.10.2009
People taking ferries to france may want to continue their voyage into Ghent where there is a flea market which could give them a great place to pick up a unique item or a present for family members. The city"s flea market has long since been overlooked in favour of similar places in Antwerp and Bruges, according to VisitFlanders.co.uk but it added that the attraction has just as much to offer as its nearby rivals.
It stated: "The locals, while intensely proud of their city, are very modest and would never brag about its merits. One reason, perhaps, why it has taken so long for the rest of the world to discover this little gem."
The market"s website added that antiques, curiosities and clothes are all available for visitors to browse and perhaps purchase.
Reuters recently said that Ghent has lots of cultural treats for visitors to enjoy and Flanders also has plenty of activities nearby as well as beautiful medieval architecture.
