Kevin Costner honoured at Belgian festival

People travelling to France by ferry may want to watch one of modern cinema"s most famous names honoured at a film festival which is being held in October.Kevin Costner will receive the Joseph Plateau Honorary Award for Career Achievement at the upcoming 36th Ghent International Film Festival.
The actor will be presented with the accolade, which recognises his achievement in film, and previous awardees have included Morgan Freeman, Mike Leigh, Jean Reno, Agnes Varda, Jeanne Moreau, Juliette Binoche, Vanessa Redgrave and Robert Altman.
As well as Costner being honoured, the festival will also include four live concerts with performances of soundtracks and compositions from artists such as Shigeru Umebayashi, three-time Oscar winner Marvin Hamlisch and Golden Globe awardee Alexandre Desplat.
In other ferry news, Ghent will also host the Lineart International Art Fair at the Flanders Expo centre, which will see around 100 curators searching for new pieces and around 30,000 visitors.
