Ferries to Dunkerque: Family holidays will boom in 2010
23.12.2009
Families will not be deterred from having a break together in 2010, according to one expert, who said the frugal discipline of many in the past year will see them reward themselves with multiple trips abroad.Bob Atkinson, travel expert at travelsupermarket.com, said that many families want to get away together and relax during 2010, perhaps taking ferries to Dunkerque, after they cut back on spending over the last 12 months.
"People consider their holiday as one of the main highlights of the year. The Brits will give up all sorts of things in order to save up and spend on a trip or a series of trips as a reward for working hard during the year," he stated.
More than a third of people plan to travel more in 2010 than they did this year, according to a recent survey by Mintel.
