Ferries to Dunkerque: Northern France has charming area
07.04.2010
Those taking ferries to Dunkerque will be close to an up-and-coming property hotspot, according to one newspaper, which said it is well populated with holiday homes. The Daily Telegraph reported that Sologne on the northern fringe of the Loire valley is well-known to wealthy Parisians who travel there on weekends, but it is surprising that British property buyers have not cottoned on yet.
"Despite its many charms among them being easily accessible from Britain and having property prices a fraction of those in the south it has yet to be discovered by crowds of British property buyers," it stated.
The publication added that wine and food are an important part of the area"s history, with the tarte tatin being invented there.
In other news, Brittany"s beaches were recently recommended by the Herald which said the coastline in the area is rugged, includes glorious shores and spans for more than 750 miles.
