11.06.2009
Brits looking for a post-summer break full of culture and exclusive sights should book a ferry trip to Belgium. On September 13th Flanders opens up a whole host of heritage attractions to the public.
Visitors can see an array of monuments and buildings that they would not normally be allowed anywhere near.
Guided tours are available in Bruges, with the aim of the day to educate people on these attractions, their history and the importance of them to Belgium.
Meanwhile, demonstrations of arts such as blacksmithing are also available, leaving Brits making the ferry trip to Belgium for this event fully clued-up on the country and its industry by the time they head back to the UK.
This year marks the 21st time that Open Monument Day has been held, with a full programme of events set to be announced later in the summer.
While in Belgium, holidaymakers may want to make the trip to the Royal Palace Opening or the Brussels Beer Weekend, both of which take place in September.
