History feast in Belgium
08.06.2009
Britons with a passion for history will not want to miss out on a major event taking place in Belgium later this month.Every year hoards of people flock to the Waterloo Battlefield to relive the 1815 conflict, those considering a ferry trip to Belgium may be interested to hear.
Full battlegear will be donned, giving Brits the chance to see exactly what happened during the conflict, with as many as 1,000 volunteers taking on roles in the show.
Not only will visitors be able to view the main events, they will also gain an insight into life for those who fought at Waterloo in 1915, thanks to a range of talks and activities.
History will come to life as the hands-on nature of the event allows Brits to observe guards and patrols, take a peek at daily life for those in the conflict and even help out with preparing meals for the troops.
If this all seems like a little too full-on, perhaps a trip to Brussels-on-sea during the warmer months may be more your cup of tea.
