Normandy set for royal guest

It may not quite be the Queen, but British veterans heading on the ferry to france for this week"s D Day services may well catch a glimpse of a members of the royal family.While it remains unclear whether the sovereign will make her way to Normandy for the commemorative events, it has emerged that Prince Charles has been invited by French authorities to attend.
Clarence House confirmed that the Prince will head to France for the June 6th ceremonies, which mark the 65th anniversary of the Normandy beach landings during World War II.
This comes after President Obama stepped in to try and get the Queen on the official service"s exclusive guestlist, after she commented that she had not been invited.
Prince Charles will be joined by French president Nicolas Sarkozy, Gordon Brown and President Obama.
Those keen to pay their respects to the thousands of troops who lost their lives during the D Day invasion can do so by taking the ferry to France and heading to one of the many services set to be held this week.
