Prince set for D Day visit

Brits heading to France to pay their respects and mark D Day this year will be in good company.Prince Charles has confirmed that he will be in Caen on June 5th to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Normandy landings.
The royal will be joined by Gordon Brown, while US president Barack Obama will also be there to pay his respects to for those who fought and lost their lives during this landmark event.
Brits opting to follow in the footsteps of these world leaders and travel to France can mark the date by attending one of several services which are being put on.
In Caen, ceremonies will be held at Omaha beach to remember those who died after landing there on June 6th 1944.
Band performances and marches will mark the date, with processions taking place across the region to pay tribute to the soldiers involved in the landings.
Around 10,000 allied troops are thought to have been killed, injured or captured during the Normandy D Day invasion, including those from the UK, US and Canada.
