Cross channel ferries close to cheap breaks
12.01.2010
People taking cross channel ferries will be heading to a country which offers cheap and reasonable prices to holidaymakers, according to one expert, who said that there are different types of breaks available.Carolyn Boyd, editor of FRANCE Magazine, said that British holidaymakers will not settle for another summer of staycations and bad weather and predicted that many will venture across the channel to spend time in France.
"A French holiday can be the same price, if not cheaper, than a British holiday ... you will eat better for the same price," she stated.
Money can be saved on free outdoor activities, like taking trips to the beach, according to Ms Boyd, who said in Britain people would have to pay for indoor treats if the storm clouds dominate the summer again.
The Times reported on the options which are open to travellers taking ferries to Dunkerque, with one of the stand out events the first bullfight of the season, which is held in April.
